Walking in the Staffordshire Peak District

When: all day, every day

How much: free

The Staffordshire Peak District is a walker’s wonderland. There’s plenty of debate around which walk is best: The Roaches, Dovedale or the Manifold Valley. But whichever one (or two) that you pick, you’re in for a treat. Boasting impressive gritstone edges and craggy rocks, hunt down the Winking Man formation and find stunning panoramic views at the ‘Hen Cloud’. Dip into the deep limestone valleys of woodland slopes and towering rock pinnacles. Wander along the River Dove, dubbed ‘the princess of rivers’ and discover why it was such an inspiration for Romantic poets and painters. A stunning setting and easily one of the best days out in Staffordshire for couples who love the great outdoors.
